Development Channel boss must be arrested – Court

Nakawa Chief Magistrates’ Court on Friday (last month) issued a warrant of arrest for Development Channel director, Charles Lambert Nwabuikwu.

Lambert, 44, a Briton of Nigerian decent and his wife, Caroline Waithera Waweru, 30, a Kenyan national, were charged with giving false or misleading information to people in 2018.

Between February and June 2018, their company’s total credit turnover amounted to Shs723, 510,031.

The above figure was mainly consisting of cash deposits amounting to Shs693,050,000.

Last year, Kampala Police arrested Lambert twice for defrauding hundreds of public via his dubious company, and secondly when he attempted to flee Uganda.

He has since been put under security surveillance, security sources say.

Following Lambert’s first arrest last year, hundreds of criminal cases where opened against him, and his company, Development Channel in almost all police stations within greater Kampala (Metropolitan districts).

Security was surprised to note then that, also, many claimants were from upcountry, for instance, northern Uganda.
