Bishop Emeritus, Melchizedek Otim now with The Lord

Lira – God has called to heaven Bishop Emeritus Melchizedek Otim.

The former Bishop of Lango Diocese died at 85 on Wednesday, 9 October, 2019 at 3:00am.

He was first admitted at Lira regional referral hospital.

On Tuesday reports say, the Lira hospital recommended for his referral to Mulago Cancer Institute, where he was admitted same day, around 8pm.

In 1976, he was appointed the first Bishop of Lango Diocese by the then Archbishop, Janani Luwum (RIP).

He served until 2000 and was succeeded by Bishop Emeritus, John Charles Odur-kami.

No communications from family and relatives, including the Church of Uganda on when he will be buried has been released.
