2018! With only hours to 2019, I know you my readers want it to end anyhow.

According to the Ugandan whether focus, 2019 is likely to end with rain. In my Luo culture rain comes to wash the bad as it brings blessings.

The Author – Asuman Odaka.

This will wash the injustices suffered in 2018, or wash the dealership of our (mis) leaders or corruption of our government officials & political party officials, or brutalities of our police, or the misrule of our rulers, or the greed of our MPs or the dishonesty of our friends.

This rain signals something GOD IS GOING TO PUT RIGHT in Uganda. I see 2019 as a year Ugandan is going to celebrate final liberation.

It’s a signal that 2019 is a don of new era. I’m very hopeful and optimistic of the year ahead.

But this will not come at no cost; it means we must fold our shirts’ sleeves and be able to dirty our hands. We must make our voices heard against all forms of injustices and misgovernance, everyone must ensure she or he is eligible to vote by getting National Identity card – FunaEndgaMuntu

Socially and economically, remember two things that will make you different in 2019; “smile and silence”.

Smile can solve a problem, silence can avoid problems. Sugar and salt may be mixed together but ants reject the salt and carry the sugar. Select the right people in life to make your life better and sweeter.

If you fail to achieve your dreams, change your ways not your God. Remember, trees change their leaves and not their roots. You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks.

Haters will see you walking on water and say it’s because you can’t swim. Even if you dance on water, your enemies will accuse you of raising dust. So make it your ambition to live a quiet life, mind your own business and focus toward liberation.

Remember, don’t ever wrestle with a pig, because you get dirty and yet the pig will be enjoying it.

Politically, our country is at critical moment, it’s looking for a person to offer leadership. All evidence is that this (mid) government collapsed long time ago; all we lack is who to lead the people in helping it down & out.

I want to thank people like #HEBobiWine, #HonBasalirwaAsuman, #HonZzekeMutebi, #Rt.Col.Dr.KizzaBegiye, #Gen.MugishaMuntu among others. But if you can, please also play that role, only history will reward you.

The despotic ambitions have been undressed to the bare, he is no longer looking for legitimacy, and he has no shame and ready to do all the unthinkable. But if proper framework to confront him is achieved, you realize how vulnerable he has all along been.

The more he gets threatened the vicious he exposes himself. More effort is needed to corner him.

I wish you a happy prosperous year and make 2019 a year that God has chosen for Uganda; year of liberation.
